Just a User Name and Password
Ever feel like you have been reduced to “enter your user name and password”? I know I certainly do – and I feel like I’m doing the same to others. As part of my job, I have been in charge of assigning usernames to access the server, the voice mail system, this blog, several websites, and so on. Even my phone has to have a password, for crying out loud.
Last night, I read this quote that stopped me dead in my tracks. It’s from Louie Giglio in his book “I am not, but I know I AM”, discussing how small we are and how big God is:
“He could start with Adam and name every man, woman and child who has ever lived, describing every detail about each one.”
I can’t do that. I have a good number of friends on Facebook, but if you asked me to describe every detail about all of them if my life depended on it, I would surely fail.
We can take heart that a God who is big enough to do all of that, who owns all of the silver and gold, and who created us in glorious details that we cannot fathom, certainly knows our hopes, our fears, and our failures when it comes to our finances. He’s not worried – so why should I be? By the way, this blog is really addressed to me – but I don’t think I’m alone!
Now, what was my password again?
